Virtue Audio Piano M1 CD PlayerThis is a pretty special CD player, and if I weren't so happy about my current downsizing/going off-grid project, I wouldn't be selling it. Even so, I feel kind of sad, letting it go, as it has given me many, many hours of enjoyable music listening these past few years. Unfortunately, Virtue Audio is no longer offering these. Fortunately for the next owner however, they will have a rare, uniquely beautiful, and strikingly good-sounding CD player. Your friends will be jealous, and there's nothing they can do about it except come to your place and enjoy listening to it. :) I have a good external DAC, but finally decided I enjoyed the music using its direct RCA outputs just as much, or perhaps even more than through the digital outputs and external DAC. Also, I've got a pretty good sounding hard-drive-based digital file/DAC system set up (ripped all my CDs), and yet, I still preferred listening to music by spinning CDs through this player. There is one quirk with these Piano M1 players that does not have any negative effect on the quality of sound: When a CD is inserted, it can take some time for it to read the CD and decide it's ready to play. Some CDs take longer than others. I have no idea why this happens, but it does seem to be pretty standard behavior with these players. The sound is well worth the occasional wait for initial readiness! About a year ago, I noticed the tray sometimes sticking in the closed position, and some longer-than-usual wait at times for the initial read of CDs before it was ready to play. Even though it was well past its warranty date (and by that time, also a discontinued piece), Virtue Audio was happy to fix it for me, without charge. Since then, it has performed very well (still, with the usual occasional slowness during initial read, as mentioned above). Knowing the guys at Virtue Audio, if anything were to need fixing in the future, I'm sure they'd take care of it, despite its discontinued, beyond warranty status. I have truly enjoyed playing music through this CD player, and have no doubt the next owner will be very happy with it as well. I have the original packaging and the remote. The manual is currently hiding out in a "safe place", and as soon as I find it, I'll remember why it was such a good idea to put it there, and then I'll be happy to send it along. Fortunately, this is a CD player, so all connections, buttons, etc. are simple and self-explanatory.
