I am selling my SMcAudio Ultra Edition DAC-1 for less than the cost of the upgrades. I just dropped the price to $1650. First of all, this is one of the most incredible sounding pieces of audio equipment I have ever heard. The sound is simply sublime. If you are familiar with Steve's work and upgrades thru SMcAudio, then you know what I have here. If not, please read the reviews on the web. This is the newer transformer coupled version ($2100) of Steve's Ultra Edition DAC....with Furutech IEC, Dueland cap, WBT RCA and XLR connectors, silver wire, switchable AC, input, & circuit grounding, Furutech upgrade silver fuse...& excellent craftsmanship throughout this top notch DAC. I have tried lots of DACs recently in an attempt to better this one. None could match it's lifelike multidimensional presentation of the music. It's so hard to fault it in any way. Amazing digital sound that rivals many high end analog setups. Coming from a tried and true vinyl lover with a pretty serious turntable setup...This is the DAC that showed me what is possible with digital music. It was only recently bettered by a new Lampizator Big 6 ($8900), so I'm going to find this fine Ultra Edition McCormack DAC a new home. I have original packing and will double box for safe shipment.
