The Yamamoto A-08 listing here inspired me to finally get around to listing this fabulous DAC. One great Yamamoto listing deserves another!
Yamamoto is a audio gear as fine crasftsman work. No bells and whistles here, with a single digital coax input. Just solid design applied to the most important guts: The DAC chip implementation and THE ANALOG OUTPUT stage. Don't get too caught up with all these DAC chips and overlook the importance of a well-designed Analog Output stage.
This DAC doesn't skimp on detail but also gives the lovely richness and texture that only a burly power supply and output stage can supply.
From the 6mooons review of this DAC: "'First Watt goes digital.' If Nelson Pass did a D/A converter for First Watt, this is what you'd expect."
