Here is a nice Sherwood S-5000 II integrated amp that I planned on rebuilding, but have decided to just sell a bunch of the amps I 'was' going to fix up and empty out my upstairs hobby room and consolidate the remains into the garage. I no longer have the time or space to accommodate all the stuff I've accumulated over the years. This amp works well on all input settings (except for tape & phono, of course) when tested with a CD player. There was NO hum when I brought the amp up on a variac and it also sounded great when playing vinyl. I'd tested it on a pair of Infinity Reference Studio Monitors and I was surprised with the great sound it put out. As with all the vintage equipment with aged caps I would not trust the caps to hold up, even though they seem okay for now. I have included a new quality US made 105c can cap and a quad of Russian K40Y PIO coupling capacitors. You would have to buy a few more caps to replace all the electrolytics in the unit. The four used 7868s are all Sylvania made and I don't know if they're matched, though they do test well, so for long tube life I would buy a new matched quad of Electro Harmonix tubes and they should serve you well for a long, long time. You could sell these four Sylvanias on eBay to help fund the new matched quad. The other tubes are all 12AX7s, all of Japanese origin (4 Toshibas and two ITTs) and they test well. No Chinese tubes. I am selling the amp 'as-is' only guaranteeing that it will not arrive DOA. I'll include a single-page schematic with it. I pack very well and have had no issues with any of the other amps or other equipment that I've ever shipped out (check my feedback). I am charging $40 for shipping in the continental US and I will refund the difference for shipping if the actual cost is substantially less than $40. If you have any questions shoot me an email.
