Hello, Here is the company that pretty much started the trend of today's Audiophile headphone amplifiers, HeadRoom! This is a legendary HeadRoom Balanced Home Amp, which was the last of the full size amp models, prior to the company deciding to stop amplifier manufacturing. (Their production costs to make these was very high) Please find additional great reviews and specifications on the internet. You may also find information from HeadRoom's Archive site. These are considered to be one of the best sounding, best built headphone amps/pre-amps that money can buy. Built like a tank, weighing in at a whopping 18 lbs, it uses the highest quality dual power supplies, caps, op-amps and attenuator. It is capable of driving up to FOUR sets of standard un-balanced headphones, or TWO sets of balanced headphones. Being a true balanced design, it has twice the voltage swing, twice the slew rate, 4 times the output power and a lower noise floor than your typical headphone pre-amp. It can be used with EITHER unbalanced OR balanced headphones. This unit has all of the best and most costly upgrades, except the optional built-in DAC. It has the very expensive MAX MODULE upgrade, the black and gold class -A module OPA 627 Op-Amps...the best made! It also has the best available STEPPED ATTENUATOR upgrade, for ultimate tracking, separation, durability and sonics. 24 positions with heavy gold plating for decades of listening. This unit offers Headrooms unique Crossfeed circuit, which dramatically improves headphone imaging. (It can be bypassed by the switch on front if desired, but most leave it on for headphoe use). It also has a bypassable, 2-position brightness filter, for subtle tone improvements. It has 3 different, selectable gain settings, which can be handy for driving different sensitivity headphones or amplifiers, using the pre-amp outputs on the rear. Speaking of pre-amp outputs, this is not just a world-class headphone amp, but also a world class balanced OR single-ended (RCA) pre-amp as well! Quite frankly, I have found it to be the best sounding pre-amp I have ever had in my system. The Max module and stepped attenuator upgrades have a lot to do with why it sounds so good. The detail and huge, 3-D soundstage this unit puts out is second to none! As a pre-amp alone, I found it to sound equal to or better than my previous favorite Bent Audio Tap-X passive, and that is saying a LOT about how transparent and detailed this unit is! This unit offers TWO sets of unbalanced (RCA) inputs, and one set of true balanced inputs. It has one set of RCA outputs and one set of balanced outputs. All of the RCA input and output jacks are very high quality Cardas rhodium plated jacks, and the balanced inpuits and outputs are gold plated Neutrics.

This is basically identical to the top of the line Max Balanced Amp in their lineup, except in the Balanced Home Amp label. With all the upgrades, this unit was well over $3,000 when new from the factory. It is in excellent condition all around, showing very little wear or use. No scratches or dings...looks fantastic! Owner's manual is included. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have.
