Audio Research SP8 Special Edition Tube PreampThis legendary preamp (S/N 73021003) is a Special Edition from Audio Research as it came from the factory all Wonder capped and the phono section has great sounding premium caps as well. I checked with the factory and they did not classify this as a Mk I or Mk II version. They occasionally issued special versions such as this without nomenclature, but was rare. I happened to get this one and didn’t even realize it until years later. I don't remember what i paid for it new so I just estimated value. See my 100% ratings on ebay and audiogon. I don't charge for paypal fee's. The power supply Electrolytic caps are 1 yr old. The item has been in use in my system so it works fine. Unit retubed (EH) and has about 500 hrs on them. Rated 8 only because of age. I am the original owner and have the original shipping boxes and manual. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
