I looked back and paid a bit less than what I had thought so I have lowered my asking price. The options I ordered with the stock preamp from Don are:
Walnut cabinet
5 inputs/selector switch
1 uF output capacitor
I am selling the fabulous Don Sachs custom tube SP-14 preamplifier. Don custom made this for me in about 4 months. He custom builds all of his preamps for his customers depending on what they want and what kind of amp they use. Don is just a wonderful guy with a lot of patience. I could describe this preamp in some detail but I suggest any prospective buyers check out his website and the many positive internet posts about this beauty. I can say it is easily the best preamp I have ever owned and heard. I'm just taking my system in another direction at this point. I know there a many audiophiles always looking for a top notch preamp at a reasonable price - this may be it. I have owned it for about a year and it is in like new condition. It has never given me a second of trouble. I believe Don gives a lifetime of warranty - I need to verify that though. It is really a superb show of design and meticulous construction Don is known for. The sound is not so tubey but is quick and natural, smooth with detail but not analytical.
