This is a pristine, gently used unitdeHavilland makes some really nice gear -- overbuilt to last a lifetime. All power supply and audio circuit wiring is point-to-point. This is an octal-based preamp that delivers nice, big tone - but not overly lush/syrupy and not at the expense of detail -- the included tube set provides plenty of detail. The bass sounds big and powerful, but it is always well integrated with the music. Do your homework and read about this piece. By all accounts it is a really nice preamp. The unit is about one and a half years old. I am not big on logos or flashy gear and this black-on-black version is understated, but very classy in appearance. I can't find any imperfections to note. Anything that may not look perfect in my pictures is just the result of the lighting in the room/flash from camera. I am pretty particular about my equipment and had a custom cover made by Radio Dust Covers (also black with subtle black "deHavilland" written on it). I used the dust cover whenever the preamp was not in use. It is included in the sale. Also included are 2 perfect mirror matched late 40's/early 50's Sylvania 6AH4-GT tubes and a perfect new in box CBS 5aw4 rectifier just purchased from Andy at Vintage Tube Services on 9/16/2018 and not used yet. Also included is a NOS 1945 Sylvania Black Plate 6SN7W purchased on 9/11/2018. The original tube set is also included as a backup.
