For sale is my pair of mint condition Yamaha NS-690 three-way speakers, the baby-bro of the venerable NS-1000 monitors. I have the 1000s and these surprisingly do not sound far off sonically - really. These speakers sound fantastic and full-bodied and look like new... one owner who bought them and never moved them from his home and it shows. Cabinets are perfect all the way around (Front, Rear, Top, left, and right side) with just a scratch or two on the panel underneath that you will NEVER see. These cabinets are made of real plywood with real wood veneer cabinets. Later versions of this speaker used particle board that is now flaking and chipped at the corners. Like the cabinets, the grills are perfect. No rips, tears, or holes. They function perfectly and the level adjustment knobs for the mids and tweeters work as well. Pictured in the center is a 14-watt per channel tube amp (not for sale) and these speakers were putting out full-bodied sound at a decent volume. They were previously paired with my Sansui G-8000 and handled its power perfectly well. They kick with any type of amp. These are one of my favorite sets and I'm only selling them because I have six pairs of speakers and need to thin out the herd a bit. Many prefer these to the big brother NS-1000 speaker LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. Sorry, no shipping due to weight, risk of damage, and expense of shipping. ---
