I have here a pair of lovingly cared-for 3.5Rs in excellent condition. I’m the original owner. I rated these an 8 due to age only. These were returned to Magnepan for a check up and new socks and grilles 12/2006. The tweeter was replaced in one unit (it was not overdriven). The speakers have not been used for 5 of the last 6 years in part due to my busy work situation. The external cross-over has never been used since I bi-amped these. Audioquest jumper cables are included with the speakers to connect it with the remote crossover box.Most of you already know these speakers sound great and are a tremendous value. The design is a 3 way planar magnetic with ribbon tweeter and a frequency response of 34Hz -40KHz +/- 3dB. They may not excel in every area but are very good to excellent in all. The 3.5s give up very little compared with the newer 3.6 model. In fact, some might even prefer their slightly warmer sound depending on electronics (I know, I own them and a pair of T-IDs).
