FRITZSPEAKERS.COM NEW REV 5 SCAN SPEAK REVELATOR HIGH-END MONITORS WITH MAGNETIC GRILLS I custom build brand new loudspeakers to order, here are some of the wood finishes that are available. I'm in LA and the San Francisco Bay area if any area audiophiles would like to audition my speakers on their system in their own acoustic environment. The REV 5 features ScanSpeak 5 1/2 inch Revelator mid/bass drivers & have fantastic low bass response from this small bookshelf sized loudspeaker- 13H X 7.5W X 12D. The FS or resonant frequency of this driver is 30 Hz! This new model has one of my favorite tweeters- the ScanSpeak 9500, and my series crossovers which do not have any capacitors or resistors on the tweeter circuit. They also use a much smaller inductor on the woofer than a standard crossover would have. (conventional crossovers usually have large coils which suck up all kinds of power & good sound!) I'm inspired by many other speaker companies & I'm a big fan of paper based mid/bass drivers that have smooth roll offs. When I see & hear name brand loudspeakers that I like, I try the drivers in my own designs. ScanSpeak Revelator mid/bass drivers were used in the original $4700 a pair ) Sonus Faber Auditors & also in a $17,000 pair of YG's minis (the ScanSpeak versions are now discontinued in both of those designs) I designed & built this new model for use in rooms that are too small for my Carbon 7 model. Unless you could get the Carbon 7's a couple of feet from the wall, the bass response was a little overpowering in rooms 10' x 10' or so. This new compact model can be placed much closer to the walls. Sooo...
