I am the original owner of this exceptionally clean, high end cassette deck. It has been well cared for and has had extremely limited use. In fact, it has been in storage for most of the approximately 30 years that I've owned it. Most of the time, it was only on display in an audio cabinet and not in use. Actual time in use is estimated to be about 2 weeks or less, and recording time about 8 hours total, ever! This is virtually a factory new CT-A7!! This was due to beginning a career in the military and the onset of the Compact Disc, which I adopted in early 1985. Serial Number: DL3600248I just took it out of the box today before listing it, and found it powers up fine, but the belt-driven door will not open. 30 years of being in storage has preserved this deck in its present pristine condition, but sitting for such a long time has also been harmful to the internal belts. However, this is not unusual for components of this age, and many tape enthusiasts have described having to get them changed. As of today, the case has never been opened, and no service has ever been attempted. It looks as if it has just left the factory! Because I do not know any more than I have described it must be sold AS-IS with no returns. Please ask all questions before committing to buy. The Original box and warranty card is provided along with original factory plastic, packaging, and (2) new Maxell XLII-S 90min, and (2) new Maxell XLII 90min blank tapes in original 1985 factory packaging. I am selling because I have way too many Pioneer audio components, mostly Elite, as well as others. I am also preparing to move. For example, I have a Pioneer CT-93 that I also bought new that has never been used! Buyer to pay all shipping and insurance costs. The weight of the item boxed is about 25 lbs or so. I will ship through my local FedEx shipping office. Thank you for your consideration.
