I am the original owner of this Audio Technica Safety Raiser Tonearm Lift, model AT6006a. I bought it a few years ago as an NOS item, and it is in excellent condition.

This is one of the most elegant tonearm lifts ever designed. If you have a nice looking turntable and don't want to spoil it with a kludgy looking arm lifter or a hunk of black plastic, then try this. It's slim and attractive and will compliment the appearance of your turntable.

The Safety Raiser is a good example of elegant simplicity. Push the piston down into the cylinder and it is pushed back up by magnetic repulsion. A thin spring steel wire slips into the groove around the top of the piston, preventing it from rising. When the tonearm pushes the wire out of the groove, the T-bar at the top of the piston gently lifts the tonearm off the record. You simply push the piston back down to reset the mechanism. The second wire with the red ball on top allows you to disable the lift mechanism if you wish. The Safety Raiser will also telescope to adjust to the height of most platters. See the Vinyl Engine website for more instructions and information.

Instead of sticking the Safety Raiser directly to your plinth, I recommend adhering it to a brass weight (see photo), a cone coaster, footer, or similar. This makes it easy to slide the mechanism into the perfect position to lift the tonearm at the end of a record. This is a lot easier than sticking and unsticking the mechanism until you get it positioned correctly. A brass weight or cone coaster can also be used to raise the height of the Safety Raiser if your turntable platter is unusually thick.

Once you get used to having a Tonearm Lift you'll wonder how you ever lived without one. It's really nice to be able to let a record play out without needing to rush across the room to lift the tonearm so your stylus doesn't rub against the record label.

Yes, this tonearm lifter is a bit expensive because it's a vintage item and no longer in production. But it's beautifully designed and works like a charm. As a bonus, I have also included two record cleaning brushes. One is a brand new MoFi Record Brush in the package ($20 value). The other is a vintage Disk Washer brush with two containers of new D4+ cleaning fluid. Don't miss this rare vintage tonearm lifter. Buyer pays for shipping and a 3% fee for PayPal.
