Here is a nice sounding, strong testing, matched pair of genuine Telefunken ECC83/12AX7 tubes. These are the legendary, earlier "ribbed" or "ladder" plate type, with the molded diamond and date codes impressed on the glass bottoms. These test close and strong; as a collectible pair of phono grade Tellees should. On my trusty transconductance tube tester, a test result of 32 represents a 65% good tube while new tubes of this type typically yield 48 or higher. The first tube, dated <28>, tests at 52 & 50 and shows only little wear on the nice, silk-screened, printed logo. The second tube, dated <29>, tests at 50 & 50 and shows a rub-worn silk-screened logo. These tubes passed the Shorts and Gas tests plus show very strong Life Test results when testing filament voltage was lowered during testing; confirming these are only lightly used tubes. These are earlier vintage than smooth plate Telefunken 12AX7s and their sound is preferred by many collectors. A brief listening test in my phono preamp verifies a very nice, smooth sounding, non-microphonic, matched pair of phono grade, genuine Telee tubes. This rare pair of Telefunken ECC83 tubes will last for more than a few years, probably a decade. These come without tube boxes but will be very safely packed.
