This Luxman PD-277 has been modified and is now essentially a PD-272, which is the fully manual version. All of the gears, linkages and mechanisms related to the automatic functions have been removed. Why would I do this? To make the table sound better. Without having to drag all of that baggage around under the plinth, the arm works and sounds better. I have also removed the original cable and added RCA jacks and a ground terminal, so that you can use the cables of your choice. The arm on this table (Luxman TA-1), which was manufactured by Micro-Seiki, is worth the price of admission alone. The bearings are tight and the arm features adjustable VTA (note the set screws on the back of the arm base). This is a substantially better arm than comes with the PD-264/284/288/289 or 290. The condition of the table is excellent and the only flaws are on the dustcover, but even it looks pretty good and there are no cracks or deep scratches. The speed is dead on and the strobe works as it should. Please note the pictured cartridge is not included. I'd really prefer pick-up or a meet on this beautiful table, but will ship. I am experienced at shipping tables and can get this to you safely. That being said ...I'd greatly prefer a meet so I can simply hand you the table. Will consider a trade of an SME 3009II tonearm. Will add cash as necessary. No Fee For PayPal ...Ever !
