This Hot Rod Thorens TD 150 was just completed. No item was spared in order to bring out the absolute best in this classic table. A custom, extended plinth was built from solid maple and finished off in, what I call, "carbon black". The power supply has been upgraded, as well as, a Music Hall Cruise Control added in order to bring the speed up to perfect rpm's. A brand new Thakker belt has been installed. Carbon fiber has been used for top plate and the tone arm board, which is extended to allow the use of longer tone arms. The chassis has been damped with dynamat. An Audiomods tonearm Series III installed. Custom spike feet, made of stainless steel, brass and carbon fiber rest the table on carbon fiber pads. A carbon fiber finger lift has been crafted. A beautiful dust cover has been custom made and finally a M.O. Benz Glider with a custom ebony body is at the business end of the tone arm and has low mileage. Also of note is a fantastic record clamp and carbon fiber platter mat.This is a one of a kind piece and the third and probably final 150 that I will be hot rodding.
